(2) Options are internal.

(4) Unduly lengthy answer will be considered a discredit.

Paper – I

1. Answer any three of the following questions in about 400 words each. (30)
(a) State the concept of Educational Psychology and its scope. Name the methods of Educational Psychology.
(b) State the main principles of Learning. Describe the experiment of Kolahar’s Insight and state its educational implications of Insight in learning.

(c) Explain the meaning and nature of intelligence. Describe Spearman’s Two Factor Theory of Intelligence.
(d) “In present era Guidance is the integral part of human career.” Explain.
(e) State the meaning and types of motivation. How will you motivate your students in your class-room ?

2. (a) Explain the meaning of growth and development. Describe the factors influencing them. (8)
(b) What are individual differences ? How will you organize education system keeping in view these differences ? (8)
OR
(a) What is a “Defense Mechanism” ? State the types of defense mechanism and explain with illustrations any two of them. (8)
(b) What is “Transfer of Learning” ? State its types. How will you apply the knowledge of transfer of learning in the teaching process ?

3. Answer any four of the following questions in about 200 words each. (20)
(a) State the meaning of “personality” and explain the principles of personality development.
(b) State the needs and the problems of adolescence in the Indian context.
(c) Mention the kinds of factors affecting on learning. Discuss the “Learner-related” factors.

(d) What is Aptitude ? Explain the importance of the measurement of Aptitude.
(e) What is the concept of “Exceptional Children” ? How will you find out about the exceptional children from your class-room and motivate them ?
(f) “The mental health of a Teacher is a priori condition of the child’s all-round-development.” Explain.

4. Answer any six of the following questions. Each answer should be in about 150 words. (24)
(a) How is the knowledge of psychology useful to teachers ?
(b) Explain the meaning of “Adjustment.” Discuss the characteristics of an adjusted person.
(c) What is counselling ? Distinguish between the directed and non-directed counselling ?
(d) Evaluate the role of a teacher in social development of a learner.

(e) What is Sociometry ? How will you apply this method in your class-room ?
(f) Explain Maslow’s theory of hierarchy of needs with reference to human motivation.
(g) What types of problems have to be faced by a problem-child ?

(h) Define the following terms :
(1) Stimulus (2) Response
(3) Operant Behaviour (4) Recovery.

5. Answer the questions as directed. (All are compulsory) (10)
(a) Explain in short : Guil Ford’s SI model.
(b) Explain the differences between classical conditioning & Operant conditioning.
(c) State the types of Guidance.
(d) Explain the types of conflicts.
(e) Name some of the standardized Intelligence Tests of Gujarat.

Development of Learner & Teaching Learning Process :
1 Answer any three of the following questions. Each answer should be in about 400 words : 30
(a) What is ‘Motivation’ ? Mention the functions of motivation. How will you motivate the learner for learning ?
(b) What is ‘Social Development’ ? Discuss in detail the social development during adolescence.
(c) What is the ‘Case – Study Method’ ? Describe the steps of Case – Study alongwith an illustration.
(d) Explain ‘Learning by Insight’ with the help of an experiment. State its Educational implications.
(e) Explain Maslow’s principle of Motives with regard to motivation. Mention its educational implications.

2 (a) Discuss ‘Mental Development’ during adolescence 8 keeping in view the following points :
(1) Developing personal independences.
(2) Developing the philosophy of life.
(b) What is ‘Classroom Interaction’ ? Discuss he components of classroom interaction. 8
OR
2 (a) ‘Adolescence is the period of storm, stress and tensions’ – Explain. 8
(b) What is ‘Individual Differences’ ? Explain its various types. 8

3 Answer any four of the following questions. Each answer should be in about 200 words : 20
(a) What is ‘Personality’ ? Describe the TAT (Thematic Apperception Test) of personality measurement.
(b) Describe the process related factors affecting teaching – learning process.
(c) What is ‘Reinforcement’ ? Mention the types of reinforcers. What points you will keep in view while using them ?
(d) How does an Introvert person differ from that of an Extrovert one ?
(e) In what aspects the Indian Adolescents need guidance and counselling ?
(f) State Thorndike’s ‘law of exercise’ for learning.

4 Answer any six of the following questions. Each answer should be in about 150 words : 24
(a) ‘One can be a good teacher even without the knowledge of Educational Psychology’. Do you agree with this statement ? Why ?
(b) Is sex-education is inevitable for Indian adolescents ? Why ?
(c) Mention the advantages and limitations of ‘The Observation Method’.
(d) What type of teaching arrangement should be planned with regard to the Individual Differences.
(e) Mention the Learner – Centered techniques of teaching Exceptional Children.
(f) Explain the following Maxims of teaching :
(i) From Whole to Part
(ii) From Easy to Complex.

(g) Explain Thurstone’s multi-factor theory of intelligence.
(h) Clarify the difference between group tests and individual tests of intelligence.

5 Answer the following questions as directed : 10
(1) Give definitions : Stimulus, Gestalt
(2) Mention four uses of Aptitude measurement
(3) State four limitations of classroom interaction analysis.
(4) How does the classical conditioning differ from that of operant conditioning (Give 4 Points)
(5) Mention four categories of the exceptional children.
