1. Draw and describe a ‘Refrigeration Cycle’. Describe the conditions of comfort. 25
2. What is Psychometry? Describe how a Psychometric chart is taken advantage of in understanding the various properties of air in a place. 25 Calculate the ‘Dew Point’ when DBT = 78F and RH = 50%.

3. Solve the following problem: 25
Given: Outdoor DBT = 8 5F
Outdoor RH = 70%
Suggest the treatment that is required to change the outside air to meet the inside comfort conditions in summer time. When we place methylated spirit on some part of our body and blow so that it evaporates, we feel cool at that part. Explain why it happens so.

4. Describe seasible and latent heat in reference of air. With the help of a psychometric chart, describe the process of cooling and dehumidification. Solve the following, problem 25
Given: Total air quantity required = 10,000 cfm
Return air quantity = 9000 cfm
Return air temperature = 80F DB and 62F WB
Outdoor air quantity = 1000 cfm
Outdoor air temperature = 90F DB and 75F WB.
Find DBT and WBT of the air mixture.

5. Describe the parameters in details upon which the calculation of air-conditioning load depends. 25

6. Write short notes on (any five) 25

1. Using suitable sketches, describe how water becomes available in nature. Tabulate the limiting values of chemicals present in potable water. Tabulate the quantitative requirement of water for various building types. 25

2. Draw plan, elevation and section of a public men’s toilet of an approximate area of 30 m2. Show details of water supply and drainage including details of fittings wherever necessary. 25
3. Using suitable sketches, describe the process of treatment of water in a water treatment plant. 25

4. What do you understand by ‘Intake Works’? Describe sewage, sewer and sewerage. Draw a cross section of a ‘manhole’. How is it different from an inspection pit and a lamp hole? Describe the various techniques of changing of sewer line in a city. 25
5. Design a septic tank for 100 users. Draw plan, section and details of the tank and the soak-pit. Describe the process of treatment of sewage in a septic tank. 25

3. a) Define Project. What are the basic concepts of Project Management?
b) Discuss Briefly ‘Project Organization’ with the help of flow chart/ tabular format. 10+10 = 20

4. a) What do you mean by Business organization? What are the main functions of the roles of an Entrepreneur?
b) Name the different forms or types of business units, with brief discussions. 10+10 = 20

5. a) What are the different types of Primary Books of Accounts?
b) Write brief notes no ‘Journal’, ‘Ledger’ and ‘Trading Account’. 10+10 = 20
