1 Write short notes on the following :
a. Safety conferences and their impact on safety. (to Marks)

b. Explain the provisions of safety committee and their functions as per mining legislation. (to Marks)
2 What do you understand by the term “Internal safety organization”? Explain in detail on “Internal safety organization” of a coal company producing about 50 million tonnes per year from both underground and open cast mines. Assume your relevant data, wherever necessary. (20 Marks)

3 What are the various occupational health diseases in mining industries? Discuss in detail on the causes and preventive measures to be adopted for each disease. (20 Marks)

4 a. What are provisions for the following as per Indian Electricity Rules, 1956?
i) Voltage limits (05 Marks)
ii) Provisions/circumstances under which intrinsically safe apparatus/circuits are to be used in mines? (05 Marks)
b. What are the duties of superintendent as per the mines rescue Rules, 1985? (10 Marks)

detail to be . eluded in the standing order when “fire occurred in an underground coalmine. (20 Marks)

6 Define the term “Bye-Laws”. Discuss in detail on the bye-laws regarding bulk transportation ot xplosives. (20 Marks)
