AA 307-Building Construction Drawing :
Time : 3.00 hours
Max. marks: 60
Part A : 4×5=20 marks

Q.1. what are the causes and effects of dampness in buildings?.
Q.2. sketch and explain the terms: a) Header b) Stretcher
Q.3. Sketch and explain any two timber joints.
Q.4. State the principles of locating doors and windows

Part B : 4 x 10 =40 marks
Note : Answer any Four questions Each question carries TEN marks
Q.5 Draw a column footing of 1.0m. x 1.0m. size in plan and sectional elevation to a scale of 1:10. Name various parts. Also show reinforcement details.
Q.6. a) Draw ashlar fine masonry work in elevation to a scale of 1:20.
b) Explain the principles of stone masonry construction.
Q.7 Draw plan and elevation of a one brick thick masonry construction in Flemish bond to a scale of 1:100
Q.8. Sketch and explain any two oblique shouldered joints .
Q.9. Draw a rolling shutter in plan and elevation to a scale of 1:10.
Q10. Draw a paneled door of 1.0m. x 2.0m. size in plan and elevation to a scale of 1:10. Name the parts.

AA 308-Interior And Landscape Design :
Time : 3 hours
Max. marks: 60
Part A : 4×5=20 marks
Note : Answer all questions Each question carries FIVE marks.
Q.1.Draw a three seat sofa and mention the dimensions.

Q.2. Write the clearances for the following:
a) chair plus access for a dining chair
b) serving from behind the chair of a dining table
c) sofa set and T.V
d) main traffic in living room

Q.3.Explain the purpose of rendering
Q.4. Explain rock garden

Part B : 40 Marks.
Note : Answer both the questions.
Q.5 Draw an interior layout of a livingroom of 4m. x 6.0m. size in plan and sectional elevation to a scale of 1;50 with the following requirements:
a) A seating for 8 persons
b) T.V/music system unit
c) A game space for carroms.
d) Any other furniture as required like center/side tables

Note: 1. Indicate door and window positions for ventilation.
2. Sectional elevation should be drawn towards the T.V/Music system shelf
3. Indicate the required electrical points
4. Draw and explain the color scheme. 30 Marks

Q.6. Draw a landscape layout plan of a residence with area measuring 20.m. x 12m. as shown in the drawing. Indicate various landscape elements. Scale 1:100. 10 Marks

Architectural Design-I :
Time : 1 hours
Max marks: 60
Part – A : Marks: 4X5=20
Note :
1. A separate small drawing sheet is to be provided to answer Part A.
2. Big size drawing sheets, as many as required by the student, may be give to answer Part B
3. Part A is to be collected at the end of the first session.
4. The tracing of the plan is to be collected at the end of the second session.
5. Candidate should be present in the first session. If he fails to be present in first session, it will be treated as absent.
6. Answer all the questions in

Part A :
1. Define ‘cross ventilation’. Explain with neat sketches how the position of openings effects the cross ventilation in a building.
2. List the different types of horizontal and vertical circulation areas in a building
3. List the functional requirements of an Architect Office
4. List the functional requirements of a restaurant.

Part – B : Marks: 40
5. Design of a Duplex Residence:
A doctor would like to construct a duplex residence in a flat rectangular plot of dimensions 30mx40m. The site has a 12m wide road on the shorter side of the site which is also the North of the site. Design the building with consideration for orientation and circulation patterns. Functional requirements:
Ground floor :
a) Portico for one car 3.0mx4.0m
b) Entry lobby: 2.0mx2.5m
c) Living cum Dining hall 3.5mx3.5m
d) Guest Bedroom 3.0mx4.0m
e) Kitchen 3.0mx3.0m
f) Common toilet 1.5mx2.1m
g) Internal staircase of adequate size, sit outs, verandahs etc are to be provided according to the design.

Drawing requirements :
a) Tracing of the plan 1 : 50 5marks
b) Ground floor plan 1 : 50 10 marks
c) First floor plan 1 : 50 10 marks
d) Front elevation 1 : 50 5marks
e) Section 1 : 50 5marks
f) Site plan 1 : 100 5marks
